Look up on what he/she has done so far. All documents and brochures are promises. Not action. There’s a huge difference. I think politicians are the only breed selected on promises. Will you get a job on promises? What’s on your CV would get you through. Why not politicians? Don’t repeat your illusions.
I have made considerable progress hacking Mondays. Monday is the start of the week, and tone of this day can lead me to brilliance or boredom. So I take extra care to make it fun. I did this trick of mind few weeks back. It worked. So what’s next ? As now I am looking forward […]
In January 2010, I went to Jaffna. I was there to launch a IT training program for 2000 students in North and East (a program of Sarvodaya-Fusion partnering with Microsoft and HSBC) . I remember talking to students, HSBC Jaffna Manager, Sarvodaya team, and many more community members. One thing was clear. It was a […]
I was driving slowly, trying to seek directions to the resort. I was desperately looking for a human to walk on that deserted gravel road. I saw a gentleman, in his fifties, walking with a note pad tucked with printed sheets. He was the electricity meter reader. He presented me the most humble, descriptive instructions […]
It’s been exactly a week now. I deleted FB and twitter apps from the tab and mobile phone I use. It was a different kind of digital detox. Not like complete digital detox, it was more like few lengthy pauses each day. When I go out- in between meetings, waiting for someone, I will look… Read More This is what happened when I deleted twitter and FB apps from my mobile devices.
I was asking the question “why am I doing the thing I do?” during this week end. I stopped all work and reflected if there’s anything else in the world I want to do, than the work I do. I’ve struggled badly on this for many years, but for my surprise and peace I was… Read More Passion and attitude trumps all
Popular belief is that some are born to sell. Selling services and products is easily understood. Selling is innate to humans. It’s an onboard feature. Asking for the hand of a woman, is selling. Asking for your valued vote, is selling. Explaining an idea to someone, is selling. So if humans are selling, what differentiate a […]
I am asked by many friends “why not take a stand against injustice happening around us?” I do understand the issues, and I like to be part of it. We all want solutions. My point is, our country is craving for action. Think of action you can do in your domain – action in which […]
I was in an argument. I wanted to tell my side of story. I was impatient to tell my story. When others were talking, I listened ( or I thought I was ) , and then retold my story to convince I was right. With in few minutes the argument was going no where, or […]

And there’s no free apps. Think of the last time you wanted an app. You searched, clicked ‘get’ and had no time to read that list of things the app asked you for permission to access. Then you hit “accept.” The app is free for you. Your data is free for the app maker. It […]

Lot of time management literature mentions importance of saying no to other’s requests. How about saying no to my own requests. Lot of time is wasted on distractions. Why not them ? I was walking with an Army officer, who has done unimaginable sacrifices in the war. He was fearless, I thought. After listening to his story, I said ” Why not you tell your story, so that it might be of interest to corporates in their trainings?” He said ” I am afraid of speaking in … Continue reading Fear is real
I wanted to figure out what would happen, if I stop. I mean really stop. Really really stop. Death. What would happen if I die. ? There will be consequences, of course. The world will move on. The show must go on. Today, I could stop. I designed the day that way. I was away […]
Here is a man who’s life was his message. Read his books. Read articles about him. Don’t just say RIP. Learn from his life. I felt sad like this on the day Mr.Nelson Mandela passed away. But real sadness is if we do not take anything from their lives. They had tough lives, they made… Read More Learn from Dr.Abdul Kalam
I read below statement in an article. Nearly 30% of time managers get sunk into email. Another third gets spent in meetings — and studies show that half of those hours are completely wasted. Staggering. I felt the weight, the burden many times. Recently, I had the courage to do something, because it became unbearable. […]
it is not a fun thing to do. It’s a fulfilling thing. Going to hospital – be it a visit to see a patient or to get treatment myself, is a huge reflection time for me. Life just stops- no more bad feelings about long queues, thick traffic, slow internet or lost sales. All that […]
I was at a workshop. I was up-next to speak. The speaker before me was doing a good job. He had spoken for 30 minutes. He should stop at 35. It was a good speech, many in the audience liked it. He took that as an approval – to drag. A mistake. What happened next […]
