There was busy the city around two weeks up to now. Most companies had organised many sale points. So, the city prices were competitive. The town council and the chamber of commerce had organized various functions at the town hall ground with mega music events since a week.
Plan International in Monaragala in Sri Lanka donated fully equipped radio studio to the school. By using this equipments we are to launch a testing radio transmission to get the experience to the children. The station is called Digamadulu FM.
Professor Sarath Wijesooriya did a great lecture to the parents to take care of the children to become good citizens. The event was held on 27th of March 2012. The lecture was recorded and transmitted through the Uva FM.
An arts workshop was conducted by Mr. Bandara who is the teacher instructor of Ampara zonal education office. Twenty five of the selected children was participated to this event.
The sport meet was held recently. The chief guest was zonal director of education, Bibile, Sri Lanka. The old boys association helped very much to success the event.

Every Tuesday a flight from Rathmalana air port to Ampara air port is scheduled. Cost per one is around 6000 LKR. Most high paid professionals and emergency patients are used to travel by air to Colombo.
Due to bad weather condition the Senanayaka Samudra(Largest reservoir in Sri Lanka) the water level was increased up to 95 feet now. Height of the water spill is 110 feet. Most people are thinking this year also spill again the reservoir. So, most farmers did not plough their paddy fields fearing flood.

Inginiyagala Senanayaka Samudra was spilt last year for 10 years.The farmers began plouging paddy fields now and opened the water supply to the paddy fields through the left bank and right bank canals from 15th of October by the irrigation authorities.
