    Hi Tanya,

I recently read your insightful article “Embrace the Future With AI-Assisted Content Creation” and wanted to reach out with my thoughts. I found your perspective on how AI can aid writers and content creators very compelling. AI tools like advanced predictive text and semantic analysis seem quite useful for boosting productivity. Your advice to approach this technology as a collaborator rather than with fear was inspiring.

What we need is actual intelligence.. not artificial intelligence. Actual intelligence would include humans weighing the cost of adding more CO2 emissions to a dying planet from such things as AI and bitcoins and other super consumers of energy. We’re headed for a bridge out and punching the gas pedal. AI is just pushing it further to the floor. Where is the intelligence in that.?

Thank you for indicating your interest in translations! At this time our courses and webinars are only available in English. We have found that the Google Translate browser extension seems to work fairly well for the written course materials. We’re working on solutions for our webinars.

I was once told. That you can’t get Google adsense once you use AI content

I recommend doing additional searches looking for source information coming from Google on this matter, rather than general advice. That said, it is not the use of AI that may cause problems for a site, it’s how AI is used.

All divisions of Google are looking for high quality, credible content. If you use AI responsibly to enhance your own original content creation, then there’s no problem.

The mistake is in using AI to mass create content on topics you’re not already an expert in. Programs like Google AdSense, and even search engines in general, are able to determine the quality of the content.

This is the type of information you’ll learn in our Unlocking the Power of AI course.

Here is also a resource from Google regarding their position on AI (also included in the course): https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2023/02/google-search-and-ai-content

As the course emphasizes, the key is in responsible use that merges human creativity with AI efficiency.

I suppose that could be a reasonable observation. There’s much more nuance to it and this isn’t a legal advice post. We encourage anyone reading this post or engaging with our materials to do their own research, and we provide the links to facilitate that.

At the end of the day, using AI tools is a personal choice. We are providing resources to help you to learn how to use some of the tools effectively and responsibly. WordPress.com doesn’t control OpenAI’s policies, we aren’t the authority on their policies, and policies can change.

If you’re not comfortable using AI, and don’t want to learn about it, then I’d recommend not using it. It’s not a requirement. As mentioned in another comment, any AI related features within WordPress.com are 100% optional.

But it is an emerging technology that many are excited about. Me included, when it’s used ethically and responsibly, which is the responsibility of the user. You should never blindly use the outputs of AI without fact and plagiarism checking, which we teach in the course.

I’ve seen your reply and I’m confirming that it won’t be approved for this thread. This announcement post isn’t the place to debate opinions around AI, there are plenty of other avenues for that.

This post is sharing access to educational materials for those users who wish to learn how to use AI tools effectively and responsibly with content creation.

I respect your preference to avoid using AI and the tools within WordPress.com are completely optional. If you don’t explicitly add and use the AI Assistant block, you won’t be using AI within your site.

Are you using AI to help generate your replies to comments? If not, your sentence structure is phenomenal.

If you’re asking about my replies specifically, no, I haven’t used AI for any of the comment replies on this thread. I do use AI for a lot of different purposes, but mostly in the areas of brainstorming new ideas and refining complex technical explanations to ensure the language is clear.

Wow. Great grammar, syntaxes, punctuation, and vocabulary. I don’t like seeing people spelling words phonetically and using periods. 😆. Especially the most nefarious acts of not using subjects of the preposition in prepositional phrases.

😆 Well, thank you. 😊 I don’t profess to be perfect with it (commas are the bane of my existence haha), but as a writer, I believe I should always do my best, no matter the medium. It annoys my kids when I text message. 😆

The AI makes excellent suggestions when my post is lacking. It helps guide my writing is a really helpful way. It’s amazing that this tool is so readily available with wordpress!
