Funeral Notice
It is with profound sadness and grief the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement announces the sudden demise of Mr.Chaminda Samantha Rajakaruna, Attorney-at-Law, the Executive Director of the Lanka Jathika Sarvodaya Shramadana Sangamaya who selflessly contributed to Sarvodaya’s enormous humanitarian mission for over 15 years. With great sorrow we wish to inform all individuals, local and international organizations who worked with late Mr. Chaminda Rajakaruna and Sri Lankans who benefitted from his services that he passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, in the United States of America due to a sudden ailment.
The cortege of the late Mr. Chaminda Samantha Rajakaruna will be received and held for viewing at the Vishva Samadhi Hall of the Sarvodaya Headquarters on Wednesday, 22nd June 2022, from 08.00 am to 11.00 am for the Sarvodaya staff, friends, and acquaintances to pay their final respects. Thereafter, the cortege will leave to late Mr. Chaminda Rajakaruna’s residence at No: 19/3, Gnanavimala Road, Athurugiriya.
The final religious rites will be performed at the residence on Thursday 23rd June 2022, 03.00pm followed by the cremation at 05.00pm held at the crematorium of the Athurugiriya – Oruwala Public Cemetery.
The Sarvodaya Movement extends its deepest condolences to his beloved wife Mrs Thanuja Gangi Rajakaruna, to his three children, Nethmi Yuhasna, Imeth Akalanka, and Nethini Thehasna and to his other extended family members.
