U19 Inter Schools Division 1 Tier ‘A’ Two Day Cricket encounter between Nalanda College, Colombo and S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia ended in a no result today (03rd December) at Nalanda College Grounds, Colombo.
Having been put into bat first, Nalanda College posted a solid score of 285/4 on the board before declaring the innings in the 92nd over. Rusiru Vilochana (95) and Chanul Athukorala (50) starred with the bat, scoring half-centuries for Nalanda College.
In reply, the school by the sea posted 51/5 before rain halted the play on the final day. The incessant rain prompted the umpires to call off the game without a decision.
Meanwhile, the traditional encounter between Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa and St. Thomas College, Matara ended in a draw today at Uyanwatta Stadium in Matara. However, St. Thomas College managed to take first innings honors thanks to the brilliant bowing performances of Pesandu Sanjan and Banuka Insamal, who picked up 4-wicket hauls.
