18-year-old Shevon Daniel will reportedly leave the island to take part in a training camp organized by the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals on the 01st of December.

Daniel, who represents St. Joseph’s College in the schools arena, caught the eye of the franchise leagues around the globe after his showing at the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Junior League for the Gujranwala Giants, where he scored 176 runs in 5 games.

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to kick-off next year and it promises to be another thrilling tournament with the number of matches growing once again. The 10 franchises announced their retained players a few weeks ago and there were 4 Sri Lankans in the list, Wanindu Hasaranga for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Bhanuka Rajapakse for Punjab Kings and Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana for Chennai Super Kings.

With the bidding war for the remaining spots looming, franchises have started searching for potential names for them to buy in the auction coming up. One such name Rajasthan Royals have added in their list of potential signings is the highly talented upcoming cricketer Daniel.

The explosive left-handed batter is also a crafty off spinner. He was a part Sri Lanka Under 19 team which won their bilateral clashes against Bangladesh and England and followed it up with a quality showing at the Under 19 World Cup earlier this year. Daniel also captained his school at the renowned traditional big match encounter, Battle of the Saints this year as well.
