Eight matches of the 11th week of the SLC Major League Tournament commenced today (04th November), at several venues across the island.

Yohan De Silva of Bloomfield C & AC, who scored a brilliant century against Badureliya Cricket Club, lit up the opening day of the 3-day encounter between the two sides played today at Bloomfield Grounds.
De Silva made 111 runs off 162 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes, putting his side on top at the end of first day’s play with a first innings score of 243/4.
Apart from him, Navindu Vithanaga (Saracens SC) and Isivara Dissanayaka (Lankan CC) caught the eyes of spectators with delightful knocks of 89 and 85 respectively.
The experienced leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna (6/71) and the 32-year old off-spinner Nalin Priyadarshana (6/72) were the top two performers with the ball on first day’s play.
