Something to hold

Let me find something interesting for you to hold. I know you like holding on to interesting things. Boring things only make you sad. And when you are sad you drop things. All the special things in the world break when dropped. And I don’t want you to break anything anymore.

Look at me. Look at this which I hold in my hand. Is it interesting? Would you like to hold it? To marvel it? To ponder about its existence as you endlessly ponder about your own?

What goes on in that mind of yours? I could never know. I wish I could relate in some way, but you are someone else. You are not me. I am not you. How am I to relate to what you are saying?

Is this the way to see? Is this the way to let you be?

I can feel your impatience. You want more. You always want more. I don’t blame you. Your kind is never satisfied with what you have. For you, satisfaction is an impermanent state.

So I shall give you more. More to hold. More to marvel. More to ponder about.

Maybe one day you will be satisfied.

Maybe one day you will be happy.

Maybe one day you will leave me in peace.
