5 ways to improve your negotiation skills

Network in Advance - Build Emotional Equity

Never go to meetings directly to negotiate what you want. Get to know them, build the connection, try to help them out on something that they are trying to work out and so defiantly this will build up your emotional equity with them where they will become more comfortable, will have trust and you will have a higher chance of convincing them to your proposals.

Envision Your Conversation in Advance

Its always good to have a game plan. It doesn't say that the conversation will flow as you planned but definitely you are prepared for all the cross questions and
queries in advance. Also you can plan out your questions and points which needs to be stressed in advance as well.

Listen

Good negotiator is always a good listener, by listening you will be able to understand and get clues about their likes and dislikes. Do not have the mindset that you are the only one who should win. Always listen to their needs and objectives so it will give a better direction to create a win-win situation. More you listen, more they connect with you.

Be Flexible

Each and every one of us have our own perceived value towards various things. Sometime what the other person care will not be what you really care. So be easy on these kind of request which will indirectly help you to build an overall support to your objective. Always bring in something they really value they haven't thought about before to the table.

Be Willing to Walk Away

In any negotiation we have an overall objective. Always have a minimum requirement and if that doesn't work out be willing to walk away.
