Shecks and Wow Concert

First and foremost, this is just my opinion and you may have different views on the matter. Comments are opened to everyone.

Q. Is Enrique such a big deal?
A. Well, maybe yes.

Q. Why?
A. Catchy tunes. Number of hit songs which remained frozen on top charts.

Q. Would you pay Rs.35K to go see him?
A. Definitely not

Q. What’s your opinion on the ‘bra Throwing’ incident, and a girl being kissed on stage?
A. I hear that it’s a tradition of Enrique’s Sex & Love Tour. No big deal.

Q. Care to elaborate more as to why MS has gotten his panties in a wad?
A. I don’t see how this has became a national threat to the country. Either he has not witnessed or heard of ‘stag night’, or never knew that bras were meant to be taken off. 😉 Anyway, who cares? I don’t think that anyone got naked. Who knows if it was a guy who threw the bra?
Is lip kissing unheard of? It didn’t go on for more than half a second even yeah? Bloody shame, I’d say for the young lady. After all, she either paid or screwed someone for a ticket worth of Rs.35K.

Q. Should Sanga & Mahela compensate the fans?
A. On the matter of event organizing –> Yes. Lots of complaints on how the crowd and queues were managed. Then again admitting that something went wrong itself is a big step, in my opinion.
Pricing –> If the fans were willing to pay, why not?

Q. Should we blame the organizers for what happened?
A. A feasibility study revealed that a bunch of idiots were willing to pay tens and thousands to see this guy, and they took advantage of it. Who’d have thought that a bra would make national news?

Q. Should Enrique apologize to MS?
A. MS, who?

Q. Finally, who’d be willing to sponsor a SOAD, Metallica or Iron Maiden concert in Sri Lanka?
A. Nobody. Coz we love to travel to India to watch these rock gods perform

Podda, you’re awesome!

    • Do you mean to say that there should have been a way to control/organize/discipline this crowd at the concert? Quite hard, wouldn’t you think?
Also, if what happened was a tradition and since it has been done on other concerts of the same tour, then what?

      • But considering the conservatism upheld in Sri Lanka people should have known better. I mean just because it’s a tradition it doesn’t mean you need to compromise your values. (Or say, those of your country) I must also add that I think it’s a good idea of adding the sigiriya painting. Hmm after all is this culture so conservative?

    • Right on. Why pretend and boast of our culture when we are moving forward on a totally different path towards embracing whatever is West.

Yeah I read the invitation to post. Why ruin a perfectly good blog with my banter, is what I thought. 😉 And I really need to say that yours is mind blowing and at the same time inspiring, like no other. Well done!
Thank you for the invite Amra.

  1. I was JUST reading about this piece of ‘news’ yesterday! I’m guessing you’re Sri Lankan then?
I doubt such an incident would repeat in another concert, ‘cos you know, it’s not ENRIQUE. 😁 But I’d never pay so much for ANY concert! That’s like 1600 Yuan. The price of MY PHONE.

    • Of course I am Sri Lankan. See how proud I am 😀
Did you know that Sri Lankans from Dubai flew over to watch him perform? And for how long? Not more than an hour from what I heard. That’s insane right?
Poor you. One of my friends’ spent over 6200RMB on an iPhone recently :O

      • What?? No way! All the way from Dubai? Has he not performed there? Gosh, the lengths people would go just for a singer!
I’m betting your friend got an iPhone, ‘cos Apple likes their prices high 😊. And I’m practical, buddy. I don’t see the need to spend so much for something that I can get for less 😁.

  2. Yeah, people are crazy like that.
Yes an iPhone. Good for ya PP. Depends on your requirements ultimately. Where my intention is to achieve super speed on app processing, and a decent enough camera for the occasional click, his is different.
Like you said, one’s gotta be practical. You’ve got good common sense, PP. 😉
