After hearing about it for years, I finally had the chance to check out Grace Garden, an amazing Chinese restaurant tucked away in a run-of-the-mill strip mall in Odenton, MD–about a 20 minute drive from Baltimore. Quite honestly, this place put my faith back in Chinese food, as they serve all kinds of authentic regional specialties from Hunan, Canton, and Szechuan provinces. A real mom-and-pop operation, the chef and his wife run this place, and he is a true master, who has dedicated his life to cooking and loves what he does. In fact, passion, he tells me is the main ingredient in all his food. The place may not look like much from the outside, but it’s what’s on the inside that counts.
