Situated very close to Kandy city Tea museum is a very attractive place for those who seek some escape from the busy life. Follow the road adjacent to Kandy Teaching Hospital ( just passing the hospital).There is a sign board showing the correct way to choose. The winding road takes you up hill through the tea bushes. You will be given a warm welcome by the staff and will provide a guided tour within the factory showing various types of machinery and equipments which had been used in the past.

Also you can learn about the initiation and gradual progression of the tea industry in Sri Lanka. Once being a real tea factory, one of the most interesting feature found here are the cat walk platforms. It is a platform made out of wood and it allows the viewer to observe the below stories through its spaces. It had been used by the superintendent and the tea maker to check the roof for irregularities and to check the removal of tea fluff.

Tea museum consists of a nice restaurant area where you can have tea and observe the area using the large binocular which stands close by.

Also you can walk through the tea plantation and can buy various types of tea.
