Pitiduwe Siridhamma
There are a lot of criticisms and mud throwing against Pitiduwe Siridhamma Thero. But after listening to him on Swarnavahini twice on Poya Days I don’t see anything wrong in his preaching. Just like any reasonable religious leader he criticizes wrongdoings in existing religious institutions, he also criticizes things he does see as wrong and challenges anyone who oppose his views to debate with him. So far nobody has accepted the challenges as far as I know. See this latest accusation against the Thero in Lankaenews at http://www.lankaenews.com/Sinhala/news.php?id=17442. I don’t see anything wrong in meals being arranged in an affordable, yet sustainable manner to the temple.

I always respect to Ven. Pitiduwe Siridhamma Thero, because I learned so many things which I have not practiced in my life. As a Buddhist I always wanted to make a well behaved mind and get rid of this sansara. I always wanted to understand the life, mind and how to cope with day today problems and live peacefully. Now I learned them very well from Ven. Pitiduwe Siridamma thero and I live happily practicing the Lord Buddha’s way. I have all the CDs and many books of Ven. P. Siridhamma thero and I was truly guided how to attend to the peace and how to reach my target.
Hon. Pitiduwe Siridhamma Thero, thank you so much for your gratefulness!! May our noble Triple Gem Bless you and protect you always!!!

I was listening Dhamma on Sundays 7pm to 8pm broadcasted by Neth FM all these days. The teachings of Pitiduwe thero (now called ven Samanthabhadra) was an eye opener to “what made people attained the path to freedom” rather than the back ground & aftermath. The priest was teaching the middle path by getting rid of two extremes in practical seance and was gathering momentum.
Alas! Neth FM has decided to stop broadcasting Theros teaching, but use that time for general Buddha talk…
We look forward to do peaceful protest…against this move…

It is up to the listener to grasp and take things into consideration regardless of who the preacher is. And the listener has to always check if the preaching’s agree with what Buddha has taught(Dhamma and Vinaya both).this is where most people fail(mostly because of the lack of knowledge in Dhamma and Vinaya) in taking refuge in a person(lay or monk) forgetting about the noble triple gem. That is when we take sides saying one person (lay or monk) is the only one talking about true Buddhism and blindly follow the person without even having a slightest idea what the thripitaka say. Most of the time when preaching, people interpret the thripitaka in their own way thus paving the way for many to believe that this is exactly what is in the thripitika. That is why the listener has to have knowledge and wisdom of his own. In the words of the Buddha… a person must always be careful when u want to buy something made of gold, in a time when there are things that appear just like gold, unlike in a time when there is only gold.

What is protest?with what you are going to protest?is it something inside you ?or out side of you? why do you want to protest?just becouse neth fm did great job.Can you realy protest?fine! then to do so you are going with idea?how do you creat this?
i don t think ven himi lead you to do so.he can continue preacing those who have ears will hear.no one can stop this process
my idea is no protest.becouse it is nothing,when we compare with reality.we should know there is a way to boadcast with no restrictions.no law. no radio no tv .no one can stop too.that is thebest way of doing this.to do this we be good listeners.
why only listeners also readers.My Load buddha’s all preaching can find in book’s reading like you all listening to some one .no different what you all did so far.so you have something to protest. you make it peaceful .But it is protest. you think it is a peaseful protest.this is what you think.

refers to a bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism. this is an attempt to bring mahayana to Sri Lanka.
The core of Buddhism has not been realized by many of the Sri Lankans,, leading them to follow a deviated path,,, and its so pathetic …

One of my friend told me that Sri Samanthabadhra thero has gone to Japan & became an ordinary person and so & so…but I don’t believe any of these stories…I think all these are made up by the people who doesn’t understand the real Buddhism Which is preached by only the Samanthabadhra thero…Please someone tell the truth to the media…

venerable Pitiduwe Siri dharmma thero views the cycle of human life through Madhyamika,Bodhicitta,Shunyata,Saddharmapundarika….etc.he actually acts as a fore guider of ignorant theravadins.

truth will be uncovered someday. i learned a lot from thero. but there were some points that i could not agree, like bodhi sathva belief. no body is perfect even the thero. what we heard from thero is much more advanced than what general buddhist society understand. on following point thero was wrong. he denied basic buddhist practices like mal pooja ect. because those are the foundation of a buddhist. from there only someone can be lifted up to higher level theories like manasin ath hereema.
so now as thero advised we should follow buddha’s teaching. start referring thripitakaya electronic version. it is only 6GB. if some one need it put a comment on this page. i am chandima.

The lord Buddha said “Dhaammo hawe rakkhathi dhamma charee”. If Pitiduwe Siriddhamma knew the true meaning of what he was preaching, he would not have behaved like this. (Have a look at the photos in the below link) Some people say we should respect and worship the bikkus even if they are “undisciplined”, I disagree. I should ask from the people who say that kind of things “Will you worship Siridhamma” if the teenager posing for these photos was your son?” “Will you worship him if your daughter is pregnant with siridhammas baby?”

Who brought this bhikku in to the limelight?. It is media through that mad program “doramadalawa” which does not give anything to the viewers other than the participants mad talk. Who brought our dear sakviti to the front?. It is media again. What did they do. Siridhamma ruined some buddhists and sakviti ruined some mad money hungered people. Who is responsible. It is media. What do we have to do?. stop going after these media sponsered bufoons and if you are buddhist why dont you try tripitakaya. if you are a rich man who want to invest why not try some treasury bills through a bank. Whose fault? It is YOURS. Act with some sense. Abeysinghe.

I think Ven.pitadoove siidamma thero is the only Monk who had understand the real mening of buddhism..not other famous monks..they blame to pitadoove thero becose the are not going right path…so some one have to tell the truth to the media….

Ven. thero got brave attempt to break all conventional type of preaching which give us the way of living but not to short the sansara. Very few great thero are in srilanka who do there preaching s focusing to nibbana . I wish may tripple gem bless them to do so further avoiding the truth to be vanished

I also strongly bilieved his consept.my heartest blesssings him to be the state of ” BUDDHA”
I have met him once.after coming back to my country I hope to meet him again & again to know about the truth.
I can’t express more.but I felt somthing differant after that little discussion with him.that was one of my important turning point.

ven, thero preching real buddhism. but monks are traditional, they dont know what the truth, if sirisamantha badra wrong why nobody come forward debate with him, actually he know the real buddhism. go tohis monastery and listen.

i learned so many things from pitiduwe thero. he is asset for buddhists. why people do not try to understand about his explanations of dharma.i am quite enough to stay between traditonal charity works. i need to attaine real dharma of buddha. thise path clearly showed me by ven. pitiduwe siridhamma thero.
