…so often than not, when we meet new people one of the first questions that we ask them is “So…what do you do?”. And they answer comprehensively with little or no hesitation whatsoever. But ask someone “So…who ARE you?” and they pause, hesitate and even assume that you are a whacko! We have defined ourselves based on what we do, our achievements and possessions and our institutions, forgetting the impermanence of it all and attributing so much value to them. I can’t help but imagine how different the quality of our relationships will be if we ask people ‘who they are’ instead of ‘what they do’. Here today; gone tomorrow…WHO ARE YOU Really???
