It’s Pimm’s O’clock!

Pimm’s and lemonade… yum! Aka Pimm’s No.1 Cup is such a fantastic drink! I can’t help but wonder why this British classic, perfect for the summer, isn’t more popular in Colombo where summer is eternal!! Its fruity freshness being perfect for a sunny afternoon… wouldn’t it be lovely if they served this cocktail at the Galle Face Hotel, the Golf Club or any alfresco restaurant for that matter, like at the Gallery cafe or Havelock Bungalow? Why not make a big jug of it filled with slices of fruit, cucumber and mint next time you have some friends over for lunch over the weekend? Or Make a big bowl of it for your next party… I bet it’ll be a hit, especially with the ladies!

It is as gorgeous in taste as it is in looks! And there’s a good chance you can get quite tipsy on it without your knowledge, as the fruit and lemonade disguise the already subtle taste of alcohol! Pimm’s No.1 is Gin based by the way although they have a range of Pimm’s to choose from. Check out their website for more recipes & ideas.. http://www.anyoneforpimms.com

The Recipe for Pimm’s No.1 cup is as simple as this…

Mix 1 part PIMM’S No.1 with 3 parts chilled lemonade.
Add slices of cucumber, orange and strawberry along with some fresh mint leaves and savour every delicious sip!

Enjoy! xx
