AAN Sports, Pakistan won the second edition of the Ali’s T20 Tournament beating Ali’s Warriors, India by 7 wickets in the final played under lights at R. Premadasa International Stadium on Thursday.

The exciting tournament saw six Academy teams from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Bahrain battling it out for about a week. Former Sri Lanka Captain and current Chairman of Selectors, Sanath Jayasuriya was the Brand Ambassador of the tournament.

AAN Sports team was led by former Pakistani Test cap, Rana Naveed and in the final, the Indian team, Ali’s Warriors posted 203 for 4 in their 20 overs with Karnataka batsman Bharath Chipli scoring 94 while his opening partner Raju Bhatkal scoring 57.

In reply, AAN Sports chased down the target in 17.1 overs with Peshawar batsman Azam Khan and former Pakistani Test batsman, Faizal Iqbal doing the bulk of the scoring.

1st Semi-Final

Chilaw Marians of Sri Lanka lost to AAN Sports by 4 wickets in the first semi-final.

Chilaw Marians batting first posted 173 for 9 in the allotted overs. Wanindu Hasaranga slammed a quick-fire 59 while former Sri Lanka U19 captain Charith Asalanka struck 56. Rana Naveed was the most impressive bowler picking up 3 wickets for just 13 runs.

ANN Sports reached home in 18.5 overs losing 6 wickets. Naeem Liaqat hammered a 42-ball 76 hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes while Ahsan Bhatti slammed 36 runs. Raveen Yasas and Asitha Fernando picked up 2 wickets apiece.

2nd Semi-Final

Ali’s Warriors massacred Joy Bangla convincingly by 7 wickets in the second semi-final.

The team from Bangladesh was bundled out for 100 inside 19 overs as four Indian bowlers picked up 2 wickets apiece. In reply, Ali’s Warriors cruised to victory in 10.3 overs.
