Hashan Tillekeratne and Upul Chandana to join SLC Coaching Cadre

Former Sri Lanka cricketers, Hashan Tillekeratne and Upul Chandana have been given coaching contracts by SLC in order to develop batting and fielding respectively of the upcoming cricketers to the national team.

Both will work alongside their former team mate, Chaminda Vaas who has been assigned to take care of the fast bowling unit and will be reporting to Simon Wills, the High Performance Manager of Sri Lanka Cricket. According to reliable sources, the recommendations for these appointments have come from the SLC Cricket Committee headed by Aravinda De Silva.

Tillakaratne was a stylish left-handed batsman who played 83 Tests and 200 ODIs for Sri Lanka. He captained the side in 11 Tests between 1999 and 2004, and was a member of the 1996 World Cup winning side alongside Chandana who was an outstanding fielder, and represented Sri Lanka as a leg-spinning all-rounder in 16 Tests and 147 ODIs.

The two appointments will be officially announced by SLC on 5th December.
