Mahanama College recorded a stunning innings and 4 run win over Isipathana College in their under 19 Singer division 1 tournament game which ended at the BRC grounds in Colombo today(29).

After securing a first innings lead already on day 1, Mahanama started day two positively but lost the key wicket of Malindu Maduranga for a well compiled 72. The tail then wagged for Mahanama with useful contributions coming from Heshan Hettiarachchi and Kavindu Munasinghe who made 46 and 30 respectively, before they were eventually bowled out for 240 in reply to Isipathana’s 152 all out.

The strong Isipathana batting line up began their second innings with a deficit of 88 runs but found the Mahanama bowlers unplayable as they rolled over for a shocking 84 runs in less than 22 overs.

Hashan Sandeepa picked up three wickets to go along with his four in the first innings while Mahela De Silva and Gihan Mudalige also picked up three each to help Mahanama College record a memorable outright win by an innings and 4 runs over Isipathana College.
