Short-handed Isipathana fight back to draw against Wickramabahu

Two goals from U.L.Nipuna in the final four minutes earned a fighting Isipathana College side a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Wickramabahu Colllege

Things didn’t start well for Ananda College as they found themselves a goal down as early as in the 2nd minute with Janith Chamara getting on the score sheet. It got worse three minutes later as Malinga Madushan added another.

From there on Ananda College slowly but surely got back into the game keeping possession of the ball and creating a few chances. However lack of communication and indecision in the attacking third put to waste those chances while Lumbini College hit the uprights towards the end of the first half.

After a half time blasting from their coach, Ananda College took to the field to erase the deficit but it never came as a horror defensive lapse gave Lumbini the third goal, with A.V.Madushanka hammering into his own net, trying to clear the ball in the 48th minute.

Two minutes later Mohamed Fahad got into the act as he made it 4-0 with cracks within the Ananda team looking more and more evident.

The final five minutes produced two more goals with Madushan adding his second in the 75th minute while Fahad too scored his 2nd a minute later to complete the rout.
