.: Coastal Communities Submitted Their Responses on EIA of Port City

Hundreds of People gathered to colombo today to submit their responses for the environmental impact assessment report of Colombo port city project which is already stated. A 30 day time period has given to the general public to go through 400+ pages long report.
Civil society organisations together with NAFSO organised the event after conducting series of awareness programs in coastal areas.
Chilaw, Negombo, Modara, Dehiwala, Mt.Lavinia, Moratuwa, Panadura coastal communities participated to the event and submitted their responses to the authorities of coast conservation department.
Community representatives from each area gathered to CSR in Maradana and conducted a meeting at the morning hours of the day and prepared their responses personally and then they walked to the CCD with slogans against destructive project.
More than 200 people were participated to the event.
