What’s the time? Quelle heure est-il?

Hi my dear friends, we are meeting after hectic and turbulent two months. However I discussed about the cardinal numbers in my last episode. Today, I am going to discuss about the most essential part in French. It is going to be time expressions.

Une seconde- one second

une minute- one minute

une heure- one hour

un jour- one day
How do we say that the time is one o’ clock.
Il est une heure- the time is one

Similarly, Il est deux heure.  it is two o’ clock.
Then, let’s look at how do we express some other irregular time indications.
Il est deux heure et cinq- it is five minutes passed one.
Il est deux heure et quart- it is quarter passed two.
Il est deux heure et demi- it is hail passed two
Il est deux heure et trois et quart- it is quarter to three or it is three quarter passed two.

How do we say the midnight?
Il est minnuit- It is midnight.
How do we say the twelve noon?
Il est midi- It is noon.

Let’s look at the following.
Il est cinq heure moin vingt et cinq- it is twenty five minutes to five.
Il est cinq heure moin cinq- it is five to five
Il est cinq heure moin dix- it is ten to five.
A quelle heure dinnez vous?- At what time you take the dinner?
A quelle- At what time.

la noix- the fruit(like coconut, breadfruit)

le cocotier- the coconut
la carrote- the carrot
le soja- the soya beans
le dette- the debt
jeune- young
pauvre- poor
pleurer- cry
le sang – the blood
lunette- spectacles
lu de soleil- the sunglasses
la religion- the religion
le diamond- the diamond
remercier- thanks again
payer- pay
trop- many
