The Demand is rising for hybrid cars in Sri Lanka, People in the country is fascinated to this hybrid concept mainly due to high fuel consumption of these cars. But the lacking part is of this concept is that the inadequate expert knowledge after a breakdown,

The most popular hybrid cars in Sri Lanka would be TOYOTA Prius and Honda hybrid ( Civic hybrid, Insight, etc.). I prefer Civic hybrid because it's same shape compared to Civic 1.8 CC petrol model and at the same time unique driving pleasure that HONDA has,

The increasing demand towards eco-friendly automobiles has seen global automobile manufacturers so they are in the process of innovating new models. This is operated with the combination of both a combustion engine and a battery-driven electric motor, which can be seen on the streets of Sri Lanka in ever increasing numbers.

"Sri Lanka’s demand for hybrid vehicles during the year 2011, has risen by 1200% compared to the year 2010, despite an upward revision in taxes" says the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
This result reflects that the Sri Lankan government tries to promote these eco-friendly hybrid cars by lowering the taxes incorporated to bring down vehicles from other countries such as from Japan.

The philosophy behind hybrid vehicles is that it combines the latest in technology to efficiently provide both the power of a standard engine while limiting harmful emissions including deadly sulphur dioxide and a variety of other greenhouse gases which continue to ravage our planet’s ozone layer.

The Demand will defiantly climb high for coming years in Sri Lanka as the eco-friendly concepts are the key to future in the globally and at the same time more benefits will be gained by the consumers by using hybrid cars.
