What do you do when your car heats is up....

By Nilantha Bandara,

This is my personal experience and i wanted to share with you all,

I was going on a friend's car one day of last week and suddenly car has stoped when tries to re-drive after putting to parking gear,  by the way this is a automatic gear vehicle of honda brand, reagrdlessly the brand this can happen to any vehicle brand/type,
My friend tries to re-start the engine but couldn't embarrassingly this was happened in between of huge traffic jam. so we've noticed that the car heat meter on the dash board had risen up to the top level so we've realized it was a "heat up" situation,

So we've got done from the car in front of huge traffic jam, advising & guiding other vehicles to take side way direction,
We've realized cause of the engine heat up due to radiator boiling when we saw large vapor coming through radiator opener through the bonnet, so we've managed to neutral the gear & park the vehicle aside of the road,

The following steps was done as a remade for radiator boiling,
  1. The car was kept 30-45 min without starting it to reduce the heat.
  2. Then carefully remove the lid of radiator and you will see less water inside, then start the car while lid is still open,
  3. Fill the radiator with water, if the vapor still whistling then keep more time to cool & then start filling again,
  4. Once filled up close the lid and go to nearest mechanical workshop or service center to find the root cause of the fault, remember don't switch on the air conditioned just after above steps,
Make sure to follow above steps when next time your car is boiled or heated up...
